John Fahy

Founder

John established the firm in 1979. Since then he has worked tirelessly representing clients both north and south in many aspects of Law.

John has extensive experience in representing clients at the Magistrate’s Court where he has advocated for over 40 years. He has a well-earned reputation for sustained personal attention to a case from start to finish, detailed and energetic preparation and robustly defending the rights of clients.

As a farmer himself, John has a particular interest in Agricultural Law and has advised on a wide range of farming regulatory issues.

Anthony McGarrigle

Partner

Anthony has been with the firm for over 30 years. He heads the Conveyancing department and has considerable experience in the sale and purchase of both residential and commercial properties in both the North and South of Ireland.

John Crilly

Partner

John graduated in Law from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1988 and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in Northern Ireland in 1992.

He has been a partner in the firm since 2000, graduated as a Solicitor Advocate in 2004 and qualified as a Family Mediator in 2019.

John has over 30 years’ experience in many aspects of Law.

John has extensive experience in Personal Injury Litigation involving road traffic accidents, catastrophic injury claims, accidents at work and medical negligence claims.

He has dealt extensively with cases involving murder, manslaughter, rape, theft and the supply of drugs.

Outside of work, John enjoys running, cycling and coaching football. He is the Chairman of Maiden City Soccer Academy.

Karina Breslin

Partner

Karina graduated from Queen’s University School of Law in 1991 and has been a practising solicitor with this firm since September 1991.

She has been a partner in the firm since 2001 gaining experience in a wide range of legal fields in general practice.

Karina has experience in a wide range of legal fields.

Eimear Fahy

Partner

Eimear qualified as a solicitor in 2012 and has been a member of our firm since.

Eimear has worked mainly in family law / criminal law.  She regularly attends the family proceedings court and family care centre as well as the magistrates’ courts. Eimear deals with both private and legal aid work within the firm.  Eimear is a qualified family mediator since 2019.

Eimear specialises in all aspects of family law but has particular expertise in dealing with children issues following the breakdown of relationships and attends meetings with Social Services.  She has a particular expertise in resolving financial aspects following the breakdown of a marriage / civil partnerships and separating cohabitating couples.

Eimear is known for her caring and compassionate approach to clients and striving to obtain the best possible outcome.

Eimear Kerr

Solicitor

Eimear Kerr graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast in 2013 with a Bachelor degree in Law and Politics. She started her solicitor apprenticeship with John Fahy & Company. She studied for her Professional Diploma in Legal Education at the Graduate School of Professional Legal Education in Derry.

After gaining her Legal Diploma, Eimear was admitted to the roll of solicitors for Northern Ireland in 2015. She has remained at the firm practicing mainly in the areas of Conveyancing, Wills and Probate. She has also experience with Medical Negligence and Civil Litigation. Eimear is head of the Conveyancing Department at our Derry branch and deals with Probate matters for both offices.

In 2018 Eimear was admitted to the roll of solicitors for the Republic of Ireland. She now deals with conveyancing and probate cross-border which is very beneficial for clients with property in both the North and South of Ireland. Ms Kerr prides herself on taking a very client focused approach to her files and has established a good reputation for client satisfaction.

Shannon Doherty

Solicitor

Shannon graduated from the University of Ulster in 2015 with First Class Honours in Law.  She then joined the firm and practises in all aspects of criminal law including matters at the Police Station, Magistrates Court and Crown Court.

As head of the Criminal Law Department at our Derry Branch, Shannon has extensive experience in dealing with a wide variety of cases including serious assaults, drugs offences, serious sexual offences and other serious crime.  She has developed excellent working relationships with Counsel and other professional experts.  Shannon is well known for her dedication to achieving the best outcome for her clients.

Shannon is also the immigration practitioner in the firm and is well versed in immigration and asylum law.  She frequently deals with applications to the Home Office, appeals to the Immigration Tribunals and Higher Courts and has specific expertise in Judicial Review applications through this work.
